💡 Why this resume works

How to write a delivery driver resume that builds trust

Restaurants, pharmacies, couriers and logistics companies hire drivers in volume, but what they fear most is the one who crashes, loses a package or disappears. The resume that gets hired does not brag about speed. It proves a valid license, a clean record and route knowledge. In this trade, trust outweighs velocity.

What hiring managers check on a driver resume

Mistakes that get a driver resume rejected

Keywords delivery and courier ATS filters look for

Use them only where they are true for you: the filter searches for them, but the recruiter verifies them in the interview.

Want to know whether your current resume uses these keywords and whether ATS filters can read it? See if a two-column layout parses — three checks a day, no sign-up.

If you have never worked as a delivery driver

What matters is that you drive responsibly and know the area. List your license class and status, how many years you have been driving, and any informal delivery, errands or driving for a family business — all of it counts. Jobs that required punctuality and handling money (cashier, sales, collections) show reliability; include them. A short defensive-driving course sets you apart and often lowers the employer's insurance concern.

Frequently asked questions

Should I mention a minor accident?

Not on the resume — it is not the place. If asked in the interview, answer honestly and explain what changed. Lying in the interview is what disqualifies you, especially since the MVR will show it.

Do I need my own vehicle?

Depends on the employer. If you have one, list year, model and insurance status. If not, state you are available for roles that provide a vehicle.

Should I list gig-app delivery work?

Yes. Name the platform, the period, approximate deliveries per day and your rating if it was strong. It is real, measurable experience.

Do I need a high school diploma?

Usually not. List whatever education you have honestly. The license and driving record carry the weight.

How long should the resume be?

One page, with license, phone and availability readable in the first five seconds. Everything else is supporting detail.
